(Terrain doesn't look equally pretty everywhere, if it got personal attention by someone it looks a lot better than automatically generated and textured terrain). There's no hires patches installable around Shuttle landing sites, the resolution is similar across the world (~ 100 m feature scale around the world, ~10 m in Europe where there's CORINE landcover data) and procedural texturing generates the smallest features at around 10 cm size - regardless of where you are. The terrain mesh contains elevation and landclass data as well as major roads and airports (what you need for VFR flight) and that's all there is, where it's not installed there will be ocean.

There is no basic lowres Earth like you'd get in Orbiter which you can upgrade with hires tiles close to landing sites. That's what the infrastructure is designed to handle. Jay JayEnn007 Posts: 2 Joined: Sun 12:40 pmĪt heart, FG is a flightsim, assuming you're sedately flying with your C-172p at 70 kt across the scenery. I can select tiles and synchronize them but does not change a thing in FG. This one opens with a warning: "Scenery Folder is empty". I have tried TerraSync also but that seems not to be doing anything. Looking around there is only water.funny though, a few other planes seem to be parking in a distance. Then I hit "go to Airport" and I hear a crashing Sound. Now I launch FG and select Airport EDDM (Munich-Franz-Josef-Strauss). That is the path where FG installed Folders like "aircraft", "Models" etc. The installtion ended successfully and created four Folders e000n40, e000n50, e010n40, e010n50 under documents/flightgear/Scenery. I would like to fly around in Germany so I downloaded the tiles and installed them with the "add-on" Option on the "Start Flightgear" splash Screen. My Problem starts with the Installation of additional scenery. I have tweaked the graphics and the flight performance, frame rate, Resolution etc is all fine.Scenery around the Default Logan Airport is perfect. I am using FG2017.2.1 on a Win10 machine, Saitek X52 Joystick and Saitek pedals.ĭownload and Installation went well. You don't have to do anything to the game files or in the game options menu unless it ends up causing the profile controller setup and the default game option to do both things simultaneously in which case, simply delete it from the in-game controller options.I am new to flightgear and I am totally exited to have found this as I had been using MSFS until quite some years ago.

if nothing's in those boxes, delete the file and get a working profile link. In case anyone reads this with the same question, the answer is : Yes, the editor mirrors the corresponding commands to the kbd controls. Is there anything you have to do to the DCS folder or in the options menu?

If you download it to your editor, is there a way you can check to see that the commands are set up? For instance, when you click the second one: " Second Trigger" from the right side of the editor, should something be in that field or is it supposed to be blank? All mine are blank when I load the profiles I've downloaded onto the editor.

Install the latest drivers and DO NOT PLUG IN YOUR X52 until the install program ASKS you to or you will have to redo this whole process. Go down into the following folders in order by clicking the + next to the folder name.ĭelete any folder inside the Direct Input folder that begins VID_06A3. The Registry Editor will have a list of folders on the left hand side.

Then re-install driver then SST (and do not plug in the x52 until the driver program ASKS you to plug it in, and then do so). I had to follow the instructions from Saitek to properly remove all traces of the drivers and software. Even though I could change some settings and it appeared to kind of work, it wouldn't load profiles even if I made a simple one with 1 key and saved it (that would work) but try and load it and fail! So the drivers and SST would install but wouldn't work correctly at all and drove me nuts. I had same issue with mine it was because i made the mistake of plugging in my x52 before I had run the driver install problem.
